Sony gives the author of High Voltage a second chance

Image The Amazing Spider-Man: High Voltage put an end to the future of Spider-Man in the hands of Sony. After the blockbuster's failure, the rights to use Spidey's image passed to Marvel. One of the culprits of the fiasco can be called Roberto Orsi - he was on the list of writers for the sequel. But now the author will get a second chance from Sony. Major invited him to write a script for a project from his new superhero universe, which began with Venom.

Roberto Orsi is best known for his work on television: he is one of the creators of the series "Beyond the Boundary" and "Sleepy Hollow". If we talk about the achievements of the screenwriter on the cinema front, then he often worked in author groups, and on his account there are two parts of "Transformers", the updated "Star Trek" and the third "Mission: Impossible".

It is not yet known which specific project Sony will write the script for Orsi. The studio has far-reaching plans for a universe about Spider-Man's friends and enemies, and there are several blockbusters in development at once, but most of them already have scriptwriters. Insiders believe that with a decent baggage of experience in the genre of fantasy and horror, Orsi would be suitable for a Nightwatch solo album. Mysterio and Jackpot also remain ownerless.

Morbius will be next in the Spiderman and comic book franchise, with a sequel to Venom due in the fall. The rest of the universe projects are under development and have not even received a premiere date from the studio.
