Alex Kurtzman will direct the movie Venom
Sony Pictures has hired a team of top screenwriters to work on projects designed to expand the Spider-Man cinematic universe. According to The Hollywood Reporter, it includes Ed Solomon, Drew Goddard, Jeff Pinker, Roberto Orchi and Alex Kurtzman. The latter will not only become the author of the script for a movie dedicated to the popular anti-hero Venom, but also take the directorial post of this project. In turn, Drew Goddard will write the script and, most likely, become the director of the movie about the team of supervillains The Sinister Six. The exact timing of these projects has not yet been announced. Recall that the movie The Amazing Spider-Man: High Voltage will be released in May 2014.
