Kingdom of the Outcasts
Detective stories set in small but atmospheric towns have long been popular on television. Legendary Television took an interest in another such plot and acquired the rights to film the Grass Kings comic book from Boom! Studios. The studio intends to film a series based on the Eisner Prize-nominated graphic novel.The first issue hit store shelves in 2017. In the original, we are talking about three brothers at the head of a trailer park, which has turned into a haven for people who have lost all hope. This community, isolated from the outside world, is led by elder Robert, whose life collapsed after the death of his daughter. With the support of the outcasts and scum of society, Robert dreams of creating his own ideal civilization, but as his kingdom expands, so does the list of enemies. Only the family can help him to contain the demons, both external and internal ... The comic will be adapted by Grant Wheeler and Ben Freiburger, who previously created the fantastic web series Life Line for YouTube Red.  Boom! Studios has sold the rights to many of its comics, but so far only the thriller "The Empty Man" has a chance to get to the screens - it is due out next summer. But the "Mouse Guard" was less fortunate: after the merger of Disney and Fox, the project was canceled just two weeks before filming began, and now the producers are looking for a new haven for it.
