Three unknown Stanley Kubrick scripts discovered

Image Recently, three unknown scripts by Stanley Kubrick, the great director who made the films "Spartacus", "2001: A Space Odyssey", "A Clockwork Orange" and "Full Metal Jacket", were discovered in the UK. According to the authoritative British publication The Guardian, the find is a collection of handwritten notes and printed sheets dated between 1954 and 1956. These unrealized projects of the genius of cinema are devoted to the themes of marriage, jealousy and betrayal. Sources note that during this period, Kubrick had marital problems with his second wife, Ruth Sobotka, but at the same time remained productive and directed three masterpieces: Killer's Kiss (1955), Murder (1956) and Paths of Glory "(1957).

Titled Married Man, the work includes 35 pages of a typewritten script with handwritten notes. The Perfect Marriage consists of manuscripts and seven pages of script, while the third unfinished project, Jealousy, contains 13 pages of printed and handwritten material with a history of resentment within the couple.

The Guardian newspaper quotes the first lines of the Married Man script (rough translation):“Marriage is like a long feast where dessert is served at the very beginning ... You can imagine the horror of being with a woman who clings like a sucker and her whole future life revolves around you in the morning, day and night? ... It's like drowning in a sea of feathers. Immerse yourself in the soft and stifling depths of habits and close relationships. At least one attack in response. Would get angry or jealous at least once. Look, I went for a walk last night. Immediately after dinner. Returned at two in the morning. And don't ask where you've been.

The materials were transferred to the London University of the Arts. All this time the papers were kept in Kubrick's house. Researchers have never met any mention of these works anywhere else in the director's archives.

Earlier we reported that at the end of this year the film "Doctor Sleep" will be released - a kind of continuation of the film "The Shining" by the legendary director. In parallel, work is underway on the film adaptation, which Kubrick dreamed of during his lifetime: a film based on the book by Herbert Emerson Wilson "I Stole $ 16 Million".
