Officially: King's Stand to Become TV Series

Image After the success of "It", news about adaptations of other Stephen King's works poured out like a cornucopia. Among the many projects designed to acquaint the modern viewer with the work of the King of Horrors, there is also "Confrontation", which has been working on for many years.

In 2014, Warner Bros. entrusted the project to Josh Boone (The Fault in Our Stars). At first he wanted to make one three-hour film, then a whole cycle of films. Later, the idea arose of creating a series with an ending in the format of a full-length picture, which would be shown in cinemas. However, every time on the path of "Confrontation" there were difficulties, and the WB bosses abandoned the project. So the adaptation fell into the hands of CBS Films, and its leadership did not waste time. Last April, rumors surfaced that Boone was preparing a series for the CBS All Access streaming platform. Finally, this information was confirmed: the service ordered the first season of "Confrontation", which will consist of ten episodes.

Josh Boone will not only write and executive produce the show, but will also lead the show.“I am overjoyed that Opposition will get new life on this young platform. Everyone involved in the project knows exactly what they are doing, and the script is amazing! The result should be something memorable and exciting ", - praised the creators of the adaptation Stephen King.

Confrontation takes place in a world where most of the population died during a flu epidemic. According to the synopsis of the new series, the fate of humanity rests on the fragile shoulders of 108-year-old mother Abagail and a handful of survivors. The epitome of their worst nightmares is a man with a deadly smile and incredible abilities - Randall Flagg.

The exact release date of the film adaptation has not yet been determined, but viewers can hope that they will enter King's post-apocalyptic world already in 2020.
