Confrontation will combine film and mini-series
According to the information portal Collider , Josh Boone and Warner Bros. have found the most successful format for the adaptation of Stephen King's novel “ Confrontation ".So, WB and CBS Films are ready to make a deal with Showtime to create an eight-episode miniseries with large-scale feature film. Filming is scheduled to start early next year. Confrontation overcame many difficulties on the way to implementation. Thus, initially WB hired director David Yates and screenwriter Stephen Cloves to adapt the book King . But it soon became clear that the filmmakers were unable to decide how to transfer this post-apocalyptic story to the screen. The next candidate for the director's post was Ben Affleck, but he also stayed on the project for a short time, and was replaced in 2013 by Scott Cooper. Cooper even finished the script, but the bosses are WB were not happy with his vision of the film adaptation.  And finally, in 2014, John Boone (The Fault in Our Stars) took over as director and writer. He planned to make Confrontation a three-hour adult-rated film, but later opted for the idea of making four films. Recall that the novel King tells about theepic confrontation between the survivors of the pandemic and a man named Randall Flagg , the true embodiment of evil.The role of the latter studio WB suggested Matthew McConaughey.
