Go crazy

Image Horror films with an original plot brought fame to Blumhouse, but Jason Bloom's company could not pass by the exciting novel. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the studio will take on the filming of the book You Should Have Left, written by Daniel Kelmann and published last year.

Kevin Bacon was the first to show interest in the book. He also suggested that David Kepp, with whom he had previously collaborated on the filming of the thriller "Echoes," to adapt the work for large screens. Now the rights to Kepp's script application have been bought by Blumhouse, and the start of filming is scheduled for this year.

The plot of the original revolves around the screenwriter, who, along with his wife and four-year-old daughter, goes to a house in the mountains to finally finish writing the script for the sequel to the film, which once brought him enormous success. However, soon the author, like the hero of King's The Shining, begins to go crazy.

Despite the fact that the name of David Kepp is often associated with such popular franchises as "Jurassic Park", "Mission: Impossible" and "Spider-Man", he himself shot films with a darker atmosphere: Echoes, Echoes window ”,“ Trigger effect ”and“ Panic room ”, which are stylistically reminiscent of Blumhouse projects.

Kevin Bacon, in turn, already has experience of working with Jason Bloom: in 2016, the producer released the horror film "Darkness" with the participation of the actor. There was not enough stars from the sky, but perhaps the new project will do better.
