Dracula director to release virus from refrigerator

Image Director Johnny Campbell, who is behind the recently released Netflix and BBC One series Dracula, will lead the film adaptation of David Kepp's novel Cold Storage. Kepp is known in the industry as a veteran of the screenplay, working on such projects as Jurassic Park, Panic Room, Angels and Demons and Mission: Impossible, so the studios fought hard for the rights to his book. ... The winner was the Paramount film company, for which this film adaptation has now become one of the priority films.

The novel tells the story of a Pentagon agent specializing in bioterrorism, Roberto Diaz. When tasked with investigating an alleged biological attack, Roberto realizes that he is facing a much more dangerous threat. Deep underground in an abandoned military refrigerated storage facility, a dangerous virus is hidden that can destroy most of humanity. After decades of imprisonment, the virus has found a loophole, and now only Diaz knows how to prevent a global catastrophe.

The script of the thriller will be written by Kepp himself, he also acted as the executive producer of "Refrigerator" along with Gavin Polone. Paramount bosses have not yet set a start date for filming.
