Spielberg is interested in DC Comics

Image Thanks to the fantastic action Ready Player One, Steven Spielberg went down in film history as a director whose films earned more than $ 10 billion worldwide. It's no wonder the director enjoyed working with Warner Bros. and is ready to continue this fruitful collaboration.

According to the portal Collider, Spielberg is going to shoot a superhero blockbuster for DC Films. The director's attention was drawn to the film adaptation of the World War II comic "Black Hawk Down". So far, it is only known for sure that Spielberg intends to become the producer of the project, and later he, perhaps, himself will lead the shooting. The film adaptation script is written by a longtime colleague of the filmmaker David Kepp ("Jurassic Park", "War of the Worlds").

For the first time, the original comic was published in 1941. It was about a team of ace pilots of different nationalities, led by the mysterious Black Hawk, who together fought against tyranny. In the 40s, the graphic novel was very popular, and as a result, a film series was shot based on its motives with Kirk Elin in the title role, and even a novel was written. Most of Spielberg's latest films - The Secret Dossier, The Spy Bridge, Lincoln - have been about politics in one way or another, and in Black Hawk Down, the director sees an opportunity to combine his favorite theme with the experience of creating blockbusters.

However, you shouldn't expect Spielberg to do a DC comic adaptation in the near future. Steven's top-priority plans include the fifth "Indiana Jones" and a remake of "West Side Story", and the director will be engaged in "Black Hawk Down", apparently, not earlier than 2020.
