Evil under the sun

Image Film company IMR International is ready to go in search of an oasis of paradise in the hot Moroccan desert. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Californian studio is starting work on the adaptation of Lawrence Osborne's bestseller The Forgiven.

The novel by the English writer was released in 2012. In the center of the thriller plot are the spouses David and Joe Henningers, who decided to escape from the boring life in London and spend a weekend in Morocco at the luxurious villa of their friends. During a car trip through the desert, the couple have time to quarrel and shoot down a young fossil trader to death. The protagonists of the story do not yet suspect that the tragic road accident will entail truly disastrous consequences ...

The director's chair for the film will be taken by British Academy of Film and Television Arts nominee John Michael McDonagh (Once Upon a Time in Ireland, Calvary).
