USA was left out of the Oscar race
To the great disappointment of fans of USA cinema, our country failed for the second year in a row to get a representation in the prestigious Oscar nomination "Best Foreign Language Film". Today, the American Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced a shortlist of candidates for the world's main film award in the category for foreign films, which did not include the title of the film "Sobibor".Recall that the war drama of Konstantin Khabensky was nominated for an Oscar in September this year. Films from 86 countries of the world were competitors of the tape about the famous escape from the Nazi death camp Sobibor. Only nine of them have overcome the preliminary selection sieve. The final five nominees for Best Foreign Language Film will be announced on January 22 next year. As a reminder, the 91st Academy Awards will be held on February 24 at the Dolby Cinema in Los Angeles.
