Jack Houston, familiar to the audience mainly from the TV series "Boardwalk Empire", has been approved for the role of Eric Draven in the new version of the movie "The Raven". This is reported by the DreadCentral edition with reference to the creator of the comic strip of the same name, James O'Barr.

According to the author, "he is very pleased with this choice" and is confident that the remake will be closer to the plot of the graphic novel than the 1994 movie. O'Barr also said that the shooting of the movie will start "in a couple of months".

Note that for the first time the preparation for the creation of a new version of the "Crow" was announced back in 2010. At various times, Bradley Cooper, Tom Hiddleston, James McAvoy and Luke Evans were listed as the performers of the role of Draven. But all of them eventually left the project due to the excessively prolonged preparatory period.

The movie also changed several directors. In 2013, Juan Carlos Fresnandillo, who succeeded Stephen Norrington, turned down this post. At the time of this writing, music video creator Corey Hardy is the producer. The possible rental schedule of the movie has not yet been specified.

The first movie featuring Brandon Lee was presented to viewers in 1994. According to the plot, a street gang kills the main character and his beloved. His soul cannot calm down and he returns in the form of a dark avenger to punish his killers.
