The movieing of the remake of the cult western "The Magnificent Seven" has not yet started, and Sony Pictures has rushed to book a premiere date of January 13, 2017.

It also became known that Vincent D'Onofrio will play the role of the villain - the "golden baron" terrorizing a mining town on the border of Mexico and the United States. The movie will be based on a script prepared by Nick Pizzolatto, who became famous after the release of the TV series "True Detectives".

Of the leading actors at the time of this writing, only Denzel Washington, Ethan Hawke and Chris Pratt have been named. Most likely, the rest of the cast members will be introduced in the near future, since movieing should begin in mid-May 2015. At one time there were rumors that Tom Cruise might join the project, but this information has not been officially confirmed. Stage director Antoine Fuqua.

Recall that the movie will be based on the 1960 cult western starring Yul Brynner. This picture, in turn, was a free remake of the Japanese movie "Seven Samurai" by the famous director Akira Kurosawa.
