Jason Momoa has received an offer to join the cast of the remake of the famous Western "The Magnificent Seven". This is reported by The Hollywood Reporter.
Which character the actor will play is not yet specified, it is only known that this will be one of the key roles. It also became known that Byun-Hung Lee, familiar to the audience from the movie "Cobra Throw" and its sequel, agreed to star in the movie.
Recall that the movie will be based on the 1960 cult western starring Yul Brynner. This picture, in turn, was a free remake of the Japanese movie "Seven Samurai" by the famous director Akira Kurosawa. The difference in the new version will be that the action has been moved from Mexico to one of the American mining towns, whose inhabitants, tired of suffering from the oppressive power of the "golden baron", hire a team of free shooters to defend themselves.
The movie will also feature Vincent D'Onofrio, Chris Pratt, Denzel Washington, Ethan Hawke, Luke Grimes, Haley Bennett, Wagner Moura and other actors. Antoine Fuqua has been appointed director of the movie based on the script, which was prepared by the creator of the TV series "True Detective" Nick Pizzolatto.
The Magnificent Seven will be released in 2017.
