JJ Abrams Designs Space Drama for HBO (Topic)

Before the first season of Westworld has finished, HBO and producer JJ Abrams are teaming up to create yet another new drama. According to The Hollywood Reporter, this is an hour-long television project about the colonization of another planet, "Glare".

Javier Gullon (The Enemy) will write and executive produce with Abrams and Bad Robot head Ben Stevenson. The co-production will be carried out by Warner Bros. Television and Bad Robot.

For Abrams, "Glare" will be one of the many production projects on television of late. The most recent of these is Westworld, also produced by Warner Bros. Television, already renewed for a second season, which will air on HBO in 2018. Other TV projects by Abrams include the musical dramedy "The Tourists", which was closed by Showtime after the first season; limited episode series "11.22.63", based on Stephen King's novel of the same name, commissioned by streaming service Hulu; and the detective thriller Into Sight, which concluded its fifth season earlier this year.
