Abrams to talk about the death of Martin Luther King
Bad Robot has acquired the film rights to Tavis Smiley Death Of A King , Deadline reports. Warner Bros. Studio will take part in the work on the project. Television , and JJ Abrams and Ben Stevenson will take over the production.Recently, Hollywood bosses and TV executives have become increasingly willing to give the green light to films and TV series about Martin Luther King . Selma competed for Best Film of 2014 at the 87th Academy Awards , and David Simon's miniseries about the famed racial equality activist also went into production last year. Death Of A King will reportedly reveal previously unknown facts about King 's final year. Currently, the Bad Robot management is deciding on the format of the adaptation, choosing between a mini-series and a serial drama.  Bad Robot plans to start working on Death Of A King on its own, and only then submit his project to the channel managers. The company Abrams has already used a similar approach for the screen version of Stephen King's novel 11/22/63, which eventually found shelter on the online service Hulu .
