JJ Abrams, after "Star Trek 3: Infinity" and "The Guest", will be engaged in the next production project dedicated to the last days of Michael Jackson. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Abrams, Warner Bros. Television and Travis Smiley are adapting Smiley's novel "Before You Judge Me: The Triumph and Tragedy of Michael Jackson's Last Days" into a serial. The studio will look for buyers among public, cable and streaming networks and services.

The book, which will be published in June this month, tells about the last months of the pop star's life. The story tells of the rise and fall of Jackson including constant interference and pressure on his personal space, which eventually made his life miserable.

Smiley, Abrams, Ben Stephenson and David Brewington will share the responsibilities of executive producers. Before You Blame Me will be produced by Bad Robot Productions and TV & Film.

In April 2015, Abrams, Smiley and Warner Bros. Television has already teamed up to co-develop a series based on the author's bestselling book Death of a King: The Real Story of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s Final Year.
