During the presentation of its promising movie projects at the CinemaCon festival, Sony tested its new projection systems that can use elements of the so-called "augmented reality".

According to The Hollywood Reporter, at the event held at the Caesars Palace ’ s Colosseum, several fragments of the movies Blade Runner 2049, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Jumanji and others were shown. During the demonstration, the image was projected not only onto the screen, but also onto walls and various structural elements, taking into account their physical parameters and configurations. Sony representatives have not yet clarified the technical parameters of these projection systems.

Sources in the company claim that if launched, these devices could completely change the viewers' perception of movie shows. Something similar is used by the organizers of the annual festival "Circle of Light", held in Moscow.

Also during CinemaCon, Sony Electronics intends to present new typical digital 4K projectors with laser light elements instead of conventional lamps.
