In the next 10 years, devices of the so-called "augmented reality" will replace the usual mobile gadgets, for example, smartphones. According to Gamespot, Peter Jackson spoke about this in a recent interview.
According to the New Zealand director, devices of this type interest him much more than all kinds of virtual reality glasses, since they allow a person to operate not in a fictional world, but in the present.
"Augmented reality still does not pull you out of reality, it only adds some useful elements to it. These are very flexible systems, since you yourself determine what exactly you would like to add: either a small object on your table or the sky instead of one from the walls of your room. so you can just sit and watch the clouds float, "he said.
"In literally ten years, augmented reality devices will be used more often than smartphones today," added Jackson. Note that several companies are involved in the development of such gadgets, including Microsoft, which presented a working prototype of a device called HoloLens in 2015. Its market value is estimated at $ 3,000. But as technology advances, the price will obviously go down.
