Japanese Broadcasting Corporation NHK has presented video footage shot in 8K Super Hi-Vision or Ultra-HD format at the 66th Cannes Film Festival. This was reported by The Hollywood Reporter. The 27-minute movie "Beauties & Agrave;" La Carte '', movieed at 16 times the resolution of today's HD format. 8K imaging and projection systems have been developed in collaboration with such giants as Fujitsu, JVC, Panasonic and Sharp. NHK's investment in the development of advanced systems is estimated at $ 77 million.
