Spider-Man Producer Announces Return of Sony Pictures Hero

Following the completion of movieing for the sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming, one of the most popular superheroes will once again become the undivided property of Sony Pictures and will no longer appear in Marvel movie projects. According to The Wrap, former Sony Pictures director and producer of Spider-Man movies Amy Pascal made such a statement during the CinemaCon festival.

"One of the good things about this agreement is that studios don't have to release movies on this topic as often as possible. In reality, it may stop altogether after we shoot a sequel," she said.

Sony officials declined to comment on the former boss, but sources in the studio, who wished to remain anonymous, said her words were completely untrue.

As a reminder, Sony Pictures and Marvel have entered into an agreement to share the superhero in movies, provided that the rights to him remain with Sony. The Amazing Spider-Man was introduced to viewers in Captain America: Civil War, and a solo movie will be released in July 2017, followed by a sequel two years later.
