Liv Schreiber to star in the movie based on the Hemingway novel
"Ray Donovan" star Liv Schreiber will star in the adaptation of Ernest Hemingway's novel "Beyond the River in the Shade of Trees". According to Deadline, the project was launched by Spotlight studio. The action of the work, in which, like in other books of the writer, many autobiographical inserts, takes place immediately after the Second World War. The main character is Colonel Richard Cantwell, who comes to Venice, a city that he had a chance to defend back in the First World War. He knows that this is his last visit, as he has already had two heart attacks and he will not survive the third. Here his beloved woman is also waiting for him - a representative of a local aristocratic family. The novel "Beyond the River in the Shade of Trees" was the last which was published even in the life of the writer. Filming will begin in October 2020 in Venice, which is still subject to a number of restrictions due to the coronavirus epidemic. The Italian government agreed to grant tax breaks to the creators of the painting. The movie will be presented to potential buyers at the TIFF 2020 virtual movie market.
