A letter from Ernest Hemingway to legendary actress Marlene Dietrich, full of intimate details, is put up for electronic auction. This is reported by The Hollywood Reporter.

In a message dated 1955, the famous writer responds to the actress's complaints about the level of organization of the show in Las Vegas, in which she participated. However, business comments eventually give way to rather frivolous ones. In particular, Hemingway writes that he would prefer to see the actress on stage `` naked and drunk '', and he himself would `` come closer from behind '' and by “throwing off my evening gown quickly” would show “Bert Lancaster’s physicality.” Hemingway signed his message with the word `` Pope. ''

Note, that the writer and actress met in the mid-30s, but their biographers have no data that they were lovers.

The auction, which will also sell other personal belongings of Marlene Dietrich, will be held from March 19 to April 6, 2014.
