Liv Schreiber will see Venice
The English studio Tribune Pictures and the American company The Exchange are filming one of the most famous works of Ernest Hemingway: the heroes of the novel “Across the River, in the Shade of the Trees” are preparing to travel to the cinema screens.The book was published in 1950 and received mostly negative press reviews. Critics complained that the story lacked momentum. The best answer to their accusations came from Hemingway himself. “Critics write that nothing happens in my novel, - said the writer. -Just think, just the defense of the Piave River, the breakthrough in Normandy and the capture of Paris ...". As often happens, over the years the attitude towards the book has changed, and today it is rightfully considered a classic of its genre. In the center of the plot is the American Colonel Richard Cantwell, who survived two heart attacks. The third will surely become lethal, so the military decides to go to Venice to relieve stress, hunt ducks and remember the events of the two world wars. Cantwell will be portrayed by Tony winner and six-time Golden Globe nominee Liv Schreiber.  The American company in the acting team of the film will be Matilda De Angelis, Laura Morante, Javier Camara and Giancarlo Giannini. Paula Ortiz ("The Bride") will be the director of the drama.
