Fox has commissioned the production of the pilot for Kung Fu, a modern-day sequel to the 1970s show with David Carradine. Warner Bros. Studios will co-produce. Television and Berlanti Productions. The project will be curated by Greg Berlanti and Albert Kim. This is reported by the Deadline edition.

The main character of the procedural action movie is a young American of Chinese descent, who inherited a kung fu studio from her father. In fact, the studio is nothing more than a secret center helping members of the Chinatown community who have nowhere else to turn. With the help of a former student of — smart and courageous Marine in stock — she vows to continue the school's mission. In the process, the girl discovers things who were previously unaware of her cultural and family heritage, including her connection to a legendary ancestor.

This legendary ancestor is believed to be the character Carradine from the original series – Shaolin monk Kwai Cheng Kane. In the series, created by Ed Spielman, Kane travels the Wild West, armed only with his spiritual practices, including a lot of aphorisms, and martial arts skills.

Albert Kim, who is preparing the pilot, participated in the work on the series " Sleepy Hollow and Nikita.
