Baz Luhrmann is in talks with Legendary Pictures to direct the feature-length adaptation of the cult TV series Kung Fu, starring David Carradine. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the studio has so far refrained from commenting on the matter.

In the event of a positive negotiation result, Luhrmann will have to rewrite the script, which was prepared by John J. McLaughlin (Black Swan). Sources claim that in the original scenario the action takes place in China and focuses on Kane, who is looking for his father, and therefore ends up in prison, where he is forced to fight for his own life.

Recall that in the western " Kung Fu " the story of Kwai Chang Kane, a Shaolin Monk (David Carradine), who traveled to the Wild West to find his half-brother. The show featured flashbacks of his workouts when he was a teenager. The series aired on ABC from 1972 to 1975, and was twice nominated for a Golden Globe and has the status of a cult show.
