In the military environment, the USA T-90 tank is often referred to as the later version of the T-72 and T-80. Some of the structural elements and combat equipment of the T-90 really took from earlier models of combat vehicles, but its design and modern components allow you to give it its own name.

Having in its arsenal many modern reliable components, the vehicle has also become one of the most sought-after products in the world arms market. In addition to the renowned Kalashnikov assault rifle and Su family air fighters, the T-90 has also been replenished with the famous USA weapon brands. Since the beginning of the XXI century, "Vladimir" has become the leader among all the tanks sold, deliveries of which exceeded 2000 combat units.

The tank has the ability to "fly" due to its light weight and powerful diesel engine V-92S2 with a liquid cooling system. The T-90 develops a speed of up to 70 km / h, without refueling the car covers about 500 kilometers. The running ability of the tank makes it possible to submerge in water up to five meters, overcome an external obstacle up to a meter high, and even "soar" a little in the air. Effective flight has become one of the T-90's trademark tricks during military shows and demonstrations.

The weight of the T-90 "Vladimir" is 46 tons. This figure is 10 or more tons less than some French, German and American models. In addition, the USA car is notable for its small dimensions in height. Compared to other models, the side profile of the T-90 is the lowest, which makes it stealthy and, if desired, can be transported along the railway with the confidence that the car will pass through the railway tunnel.

Weapons

The T-90 is equipped with modern automatic fire control at distances of up to 1.5 kilometers. With the help of a thermal imager, the machine captures all objects in the daytime and at night. The guidance system recognizes, in addition to large objects, people at a distance of up to 3000 meters.

The main weapon is a 125mm smoothbore cannon of the 2A46M type with an automatic loading mechanism. The presence of the stabilizer provides a clear fixation of the desired target and, in turn, the best hitting accuracy.

The additional armament of the tank is a 7.62 mm machine gun, as well as a 12.7 mm anti-aircraft machine gun complex. In addition to ground-based, the T-90 "Vladimir" tank can also hit air targets. For this purpose, the combat vehicle is equipped with a special missile control system called "Reflex". The missile is fired from the main cannon at a distance of up to 5000 meters, guided by a laser beam.

Tank Self-Defense

Tests of protection systems have repeatedly proven the reliability of the machine. In the late 90s, during one of the checks, the T-90 tank was attacked by 125 mm shells at a 100-meter distance. As a result, the entire blow took on the entire upper layer of armor, ensuring the safety of the crew, while all the main working systems of the tank were not damaged.

An additional protection is the "Shtora" optical-electronic suppression system. The T-90 became the first among USA tank models equipped with such a complex. Its action is to protect against anti-tank missiles with semi-automatic guidance control. The Curtain is capable of interfering with laser guidance systems and laser rangefinders, creating interference.

The newest modification of the T-90M, taking the best components of the base model, has a modified turret design, which ensures greater safety for the combat crew. The turret ammunition, which houses the 12-mm machine gun, is placed in the outer compartment. Currently, the USA T-90 tank is in service with more than a dozen countries.
