The timing of the release of the proprietary OS from Huawei has been determined

China's Huawei continues to prepare a proprietary operating system, tentatively named Hongmeng OS, which should be a full-fledged replacement for Google Android. The official release of Huawei's mobile OS is planned for the fall, along with the announcement of a new competitor to many premium smartphones - the flagship Mate 30 Pro. The operating platform is expected to be compatible with all Android applications.

The Hongmeng OS operating system project started back in 2012, and now the company is completing work on it in less than optimal conditions. In May 2019, Google banned the installation of its Android OS in Huawei smartphones due to the refusal of further partnership. Google later relented a bit, giving the Chinese brand a license to use its mobile system, which expires in August.

Huawei still decided to bring its own mobile platform to the official release, although political sanctions against the company softened somewhat in June this year. Huawei is making a lot of efforts to ensure that its proprietary replacement Android becomes as similar as possible to the sample. The company acts this way for the convenience of users when switching to a new OS. The final name of the platform has not yet been confirmed, perhaps its name may change to Kirin OS or Ark OS.

The similarity of Huawei OS to Android is determined by at least two reasons. First, 100% compatibility with applications available in Android, that is, all proprietary Google utilities will be able to work on smartphones with built-in Hongmeng OS. In addition, the operating platform Huawei will acquire its own app store.

Secondly, smartphones running Hongmeng OS will receive the EMUI firmware that all Huawei Android devices have. This solution is intended to simplify the development of the new system. The first images of Huawei's OS that appeared online confirmed the platform's integration with the EMUI shell.

The event, where Huawei's replacement Android will appear as a presentation, will take place in the fall. Together with it, the debut of new models of the Mate family is expected - the Mate 30, 30 Pro and 30 Lite smartphones (by the way, the latter will go on sale with the Android OS installed). Now the Chinese brand is testing Hongmeng OS on early samples of the Mate 30 family.
