Xiaomi has released a flagship youth smartphone that has managed to get into the Guinness Book of Records
Xiaomi presented its next flagship smartphone Xiaomi Mi Play, made in a youth format. Not having time to appear (so far only in the Chinese market), the smartphone brought the "native" Chinese manufacturer into the Guinness Book of World Records. However, the outstanding record holder was not the model itself, but an installation created from more than 1000 units of a new smartphone. A structure in the shape of a giant spruce, 8 meters high, is installed in one of the Chinese shopping centers. By the way, this is not the first Xiaomi record of a large-scale size - not so long ago the company got into the Guinness Book after the simultaneous opening of 500 Mi Stores in India at once.
According to the manufacturer, the novelty opens a new, as expected, more affordable series of Xiaomi devices, included in the well-known Redmi line. However, Mi Play still differs from the family in design and body materials. The new youth smartphone received a proprietary Gorilla Glass protection on both sides of the case, and the flagship also has a different finish on the back. The smartphone has a design that is not standard for Xiaomi devices - the 5.84-inch screen of the model has a teardrop-shaped central cutout at the top. The display supports FHD + resolution. The novelty is equipped with a biometric sensor, which was placed on the back of the device. The battery has a characteristic of 3000 mAh. The manufacturer has equipped the device with two connectors for nano SIM cards, USB type-C, but there is no standard 3.5 mm audio input and a microSD connector. The smartphone supports wireless standards Bluetooth, Wi-Fi.
Xiaomi Mi Play is powered by the latest generation eight-core Helio P35 chip, made using 12 nm technology. All cores of the chipset run at 2.3 GHz. As shown by profile measurements, the performance indicators of Helio P35 exceed those of Snapdragon 625. The presented smartphone Xiaomi Mi Play has a standard set of a rear dual camera and a selfie camera (8 MP). The master camera with main (12 MP) and additional (2 MP) sensors uses artificial intelligence technologies. The new product is available in a single build that includes 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage, although there is speculation that there will be more configuration options. The smartphone is presented in classic black, gold and blue solutions, however, you can buy a Xiaomi smartphone only on Chinese counters. The manufacturer estimated the device with an FHD + screen based on the Helio P35 processor at 1,099 yuan, which is equivalent to $ 160.
