10 Anticipated Anime 2020

2019 was an odd year for anime culture. Remember, for example, the abundance of isekai, which has turned from a new trend into garbage anime or projects with meta-humor and self-irony of the level: “We have isekai here, but isekai is so stupid hahah. If we mock ourselves, then no one else can. We takie clever. Haha. " But we also have a lot of projects, the continuation of which we will see very soon. We'll talk about the most anticipated anime of 2020. And yes, there will be spoilers for already released anime.

That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime: Season 2

After such a "fiery" speech, let's start with isekai. The anime "About My Reincarnation as a Slime" despite the fact that it is isekai, turned out to be a very good project. It came out harmoniously at the beginning of the year, when the genre did not have time to bore everyone, and brought a fresh and interesting idea, where the main character is a lump of mucus. It was also noteworthy that the development of the main one was reflected primarily on the city, which was built by his henchmen. This recreation of the mechanics from some RPG really hints that the creators knew what to focus on and what not.

In the second season, they are only going to expand all these ideas, and bring them to perfection. More backstories for characters to just kill! Even more pumping!

The Promised Neverland: 2nd Season

The Promised Neverland has become one of the best anime this year. The story of children and their great escape from the farm burst into us in the winter season and remained in our hearts for a long time.

Norma, Rey and the rest of the children escaped and went into hiding in the woods. They fled, having no idea what awaited them next; they are preparing to survive, hiding from monsters and maybe, who knows, go to rescue children from other farms. Shut up people who have read the manga, we want to find out for ourselves when the second season of "The Promised Never Ice" gets to us.

Attack on Titan: The Final Season

It wasn't until the fourth season that Eren finally shut up and stopped repeating that he would kill all titans. But seriously, the last season of Attack on Titans completely turned the anime upside down, literally changing the entire philosophy of the series and the main characters. As it turned out, they are all outcasts, captured on the island, where they hid from the rest of the world. There are enemies across the ocean, and all the killed titans are ordinary people who suffered from them.

The last season will be the culmination, as it will bring the struggle of the main characters and all their people to a new level, since the enemies are not titans at all.

Read about allusions to fascism in the latest season of Attack on Titans in the hotel material.

Re: Zero kara Hajimeru Isek or Seikatsu 2nd Season

And here is another isekai, which is expected the most [if of course you believe MyAnimeList]. And there is a reason. Rem, Emilia and Subaru were probably the best anime characters of 2016, and in general, to be honest, the anime came out wildly cool. True, if it were not for the long stretched dialogues, there would be no price at all for this work.

In the story, a guy named Subaru goes to the store and ends up in another world, yes, imagine, he doesn't even get hit by a car. Finding himself in a new world, he meets a girl, but they are both killed almost immediately. Subaru suddenly wakes up in the same place where he was after moving and it turns out that he can rewind time back.

Evangelion: 3.0 + 1.0

Next year we are waiting for the last film from the cycle of rethinking Evangelion by its author Hedeake Anno. In case you forget, the disenchanted director of the Japanese anime industry went through depression again and announced that he would still do the last part.

In the alternate version of Evangelion, Shinji, awakened after the third blow, realizes that all his friends are fighting on the remains of the old world with each other. Asuka and Katsurage manage to stop the fourth blow and save the dummy Shinji. Then only the final awaits us.

Kimetsu no Yaiba Movie: Mugen Ressha-hen

When I watched the first season of The Demon Slasher, I was expecting something like Dorroro. I ended up seeing something different, but so cool that it made me become a fan again.

Tanjiro Kamado returns home and finds that his entire family has been killed by demons. The only survivor turns out to be his sister, who is infected with demonic blood and herself became half demon. The hero becomes a killer of demons in order to find a way to heal his sister and avenge the death of loved ones. Why should you start watching this anime and wait for the sequel?

Firstly, it has to do with the amazing work Ufotable did in creating their first senen. Anime has insanely beautiful animation and amazing sound. I rarely watch anime with subtitles, but this was the case where I didn't want to miss out on the voiceovers or sound effects.

Secondly, this anime is quite simple, but the simplicity is justified, since it is banally interesting to watch. And I can safely say that this is the anime, the continuation of which is worth waiting for. Violet Evergarden Movie "Violet Evergarden" is a story about a girl who survived the war as a child and lost both dear people and her hands on it. When the war ends, she becomes an employee of the postal company "S.N." and performs the duties of a self-writing doll, helping blind people to convey their thoughts and feelings in writing. In parallel with this, she herself learns to better understand the feelings of other people.

This film miraculously comes out, as it was worked on by Kyoto Animation, whose office was set on fire. However, the film survived, as it was essentially already finished. Again, due to arson, the release was postponed to the next year.

Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai? Tensai-tachi no Renai Zunousen

Love is war! And in war there are only winners and losers. It was this message that perfectly conveyed to us the title "Lady Kaguya, in love as in war!" Shinomiya and Shirogane only have one year left to confess their feelings to each other. In the first season, each of them could not get the other to confess first. Many fans lamented, while others were glad the anime concept was not leaked. You can have any opinion, but the fact remains that next year there will be a second season that will put everything in place. The main thing is that the concept of a love-intellectual battle remains at the level.

In / Specter

In / Specter was nominated for Best Shonen Manga of the Year in 2018 and has sold 2 million copies. We'll see an anime adaptation in winter 2020, so the year should definitely start off with something good.

In the story, youkai kidnap a girl named Kotoko and turn her into a medium that connects the world of spirits and people in order to be a mediator in resolving conflicts. As a result, she meets the healer's boyfriend Kuro and together they begin to hunt the rebellious youkai.

Made in Abyss Movie 3: Fukaki Tamashii no Reimei

The orphan Ricco lives in the city on the edge of the abyss of Ous, she aspires, like her mother, to be an explorer of the underground caves known as the abyss. There she finds a robot that looks like a boy.

This is a pretty touching story. The plot of the full-length film tells about the events immediately after the end of the original series. The original title was already breaking people's hearts, and what will be shown to us in the next full-length film is even scary to imagine. Tears and joy, awe and tenderness. And why should all stories about anime kids be so serious?
