New version of CCleaner has been suspended due to user dissatisfaction
The manufacturer of the popular CCleaner program has blocked version 5.45 of the program. Users did not like the last update of the utility, causing a negative reaction from them due to the appearance of certain innovations. As it turned out, the built-in Active Monitoring tool, which is associated with the collection of utility usage data, cannot be disabled at will. At the time of each launch of the program, the collection of analytics is also activated. At the same time, CCleaner is positioned as an application that ensures the safety of user information. Therefore, the delimitation in disabling the built-in monitoring led to massive user discontent. Another innovation is that exiting the program window does not close CCleaner at all - to deactivate it, you need to go to the Windows system task manager and disable it. As a result, the developers limited open access to the latest version 5.45, making the previous update 5.44 valid. The revised CCleaner of the next version promises to have a separation of working functionality: the monitoring of user information and the notifications displayed by the utility about the need to clean the system will no longer be linked. Although the developers talk about the anonymity of the information collected, which is used exclusively for statistics, in the new version they intend to separate the controls of the program's operating functions. According to them, it will be possible to see in the notification area that monitoring works as a separate process. CCleaner is one of the most widely used custom programs, whose job is to optimize the Windows operating system. The utility cleans the computer from "system junk", temporary files and applications (including browsers), cleans the trash, removes invalid links in the system registry, manages the recovery elements of the operating system. About six years ago, the number of CCleaner users went beyond a billion people, and by the end of last year, the number of downloads had already doubled that figure.
