The spy who replaced the night administrator
Last year, the British channel BBC One and the American television network AMC presented the six-part mini-series "The Night Manager" ( The Night Manager ). To date, the brilliant film adaptation of the novel of the same name John le Carre has received more than four dozen nominations for various awards. Last fall, Night Manager won two Emmy , and added three Golden Globes to its impressive collection of awards earlier this week.Although the miniseries is a relatively complete story, a few months ago its producers admitted that BBC and AMC would not mind filming a sequel to the story of a secret British intelligence agent. In another interview, Tom Hiddleston noted that he would consider returning to Jonathan Pine if le Carre approves the script for the second season. Since then, fans of the " Night Administrator " have been waiting for news that the famous detective genre will give his blessing to create the next chapter of the spy saga.  Meanwhile, the BBC and AMC decided to bring the heroes of another literary work John le Carre to the small screens. According to Deadline , the British media giant and the American television network have acquired the rights to a mini-series based on the novel " The Spy Who Came from the Cold ". The television department of the studio Paramount and the English company The Ink Factory will also participate in the creation of the project. The adaptation of the original source will be handled by Briton Simon Bofoy, who won the " Oscar " award in 2009 for his work on the script for the film "Slumdog Millionaire". The novel " The Spy Who Came in from the Cold " went on sale in 1963 and managed outright 32 weeks on the The New York Times bestseller list. The book earned le Carre the prestigious " Golden Dagger " detective award, and also earned the right to be included in the list of the greatest literary works of the 20th century according to the magazine Time. >  The novel is set at the height of the Cold War. World War II veteran Alec Limas holds the post of Chief of the British Intelligence Office in West Berlin. The British spy is successfully opposed by the head of the operational department of the East German special services Hans Dieter Mundt , because of whom Limas loses its best people one after another. After some time, Alex is recalled back to London, where he is offered a long-awaited chance to take revenge. Limas has his last and most difficult mission - to try to put Mundt as a secret agent of the British ... The novel " The Spy Who Came from the Cold " has already formed the basis of the plot of the film of the same name by Martin Ritt, which is rightfully considered one of the best adaptations of the works of John le Carre . In 1966, the action-packed thriller received two Oscar nominations, and a year later won four BAFTA awards.  The sons of John le Carre Simon and Stephen Cornwell will take over as producers of the television adaptation of the famous spy novel.
