The Shark from Jaws will enter the Film Museum
The American Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences plans to open its own museum next year. Today it became known that one of its most interesting exhibits will be a shark model from the famous thriller by Steven Spielberg "Jaws".To create the 1975 painting, three models of an underwater monster were produced, nicknamed Bruce in honor of Spielberg's lawyer. The construction of these eight-meter animatronic vehicles took six months. Each required at least 14 people to manage. In the first days of work, all three models were out of order, after which Stephen had to change the concept of the film and reduce the appearance of the shark on the screen to a reasonable minimum. After the filming was completed, the broken devices were scrapped. Fortunately for fans of cinema, another full-size model of Bruce, made of fiberglass specially for the world premiere of Jaws, has survived to this day.  In the 70s and 80s, any visitor to the excursion tour of the pavilions of the Universal studio could take a photo next to her. In the 90s, the film company decided to earn extra money and sold Bruce, along with several wrecked stunt cars, to an Aadlen Brothers auto repair shop. Three years ago, its owner kindly agreed to donate the Marine Predator Model to the American Academy. Today, the organization's management announced the completion of the shark restoration. All that remains is to put her eyes and teeth in place. The restoration of the model was carried out by the company of the master of make-up and special effects, Greg Nicotero, known for his work on the Sin City movie comic strip and the TV series The Walking Dead TV series. Bruce is also expected to travel to the Academy Museum with several underwater cameras used in the work on Jaws.  While academics had originally planned to open a new mecca for moviegoers in 2017, the renovation of the May Company building in Los Angeles was delayed due to budget problems. After the price of the project increased from $ 250 to $ 388 million, the president of the organization had to turn to sponsors for help. It seems that now all financial problems are finally in the past. Insiders do not exclude that the Academy will time the opening of the museum for the 92nd Oscar ceremony, which will be held on February 9 next year.
