Universal dreams of new ”Jaws”

Image The comedy Back to the Future 2 predicted that by 2015, viewers would see 19 films from the Jaws series. In fact, the franchise was limited to four and joined the minority, which has not yet reached the hands of modern producers. The last part of "Jaws" was released in 1987, and now, more than three decades later, Universal studio plans to return the bloodthirsty shark to the screens.

While the information about the remake of "Jaws" has not been officially confirmed, but, according to rumors, the management of Universal intends to re-adapt the novel by Peter Benchley, which means that viewers will return to the resort town on the island, where tourists were attacked by a man-eating white shark. Details of the planned remake are unknown, but it is reported that the studio is hoping to get Steven Spielberg as a producer.

The project is at an early stage of development, so it doesn't have a director yet. Spielberg will definitely not agree to lead the shooting, as he talked about several years ago, because the studio bosses are eyeing Andres Muschetti ("It").

Jaws is a timeless classic of cinema, and many filmmakers were inspired by Spielberg, who became the prototype for modern summer blockbusters. Horror stories about sea monsters are not uncommon today, and recent examples include Meg: Monster of the Depth, in which Jason State fought a prehistoric megalodon. So whoever takes over the director's reins of the new Jaws will have to put in a lot of effort to surprise the sophisticated audience.
