Judy Greer will enter the ring
Judy Greer has joined the cast of sports drama Flint Strong. The film will be based on the 2015 documentary T-Rex, directed by Zachary Kanepari and Drea Cooper. It was about Claressa Shields, two-time Olympic boxing champion.The biopic is headed by Rachel Morrison, known as the first woman in film history to win an Oscar in the Best Cinematography category. She stood behind the camera on the set of films such as Mudbound Farm and Black Panther. Flint Strong will be her directorial debut. Oscar winner Barry Jenkins wrote the script for the full-length version of Claressa's story. T-Rex is about a 17-year-old from Flint, Michigan, whose dreams of becoming a boxing champion came true at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. Universal acquired the rights to Shields' life story and documentary in 2016, and singer and actress Ryan Destiny was cast in the upcoming biopic last November. It has not yet been announced who Judy Greer will play in the new film, but it is known that she got one of the key roles. Ice Cube will appear as Claressa's coach Jason Crutchfield.
