The children of the corn found new victims

Image For the first time, "Children of the Corn" by Stephen King was filmed back in 1984. Since then, the film series has grown to ten films, but none of them can be called a masterpiece. However, Hollywood producers cannot be stopped, and journalists learned that Children of the Corn will have a remake.

Slowly, producer Lucas Foster (Ford vs. Ferrari) and director Curt Wimmer (Equilibrium) are filming the new Children of the Corn now in Australia. Despite the fact that due to the coronavirus, work on most films and TV series has been suspended, Foster and Wimmer managed to bypass the restrictions of the Australian authorities. The film crew has been reduced to a minimum, all safety requirements are observed on site. In addition, the Children of the Corn remake is an independent film, and therefore does not fall under the restrictions imposed on the projects of large studios.

King's story was published in 1977 and later included in The Night Shift. The plot revolves around a married couple on their way to California by car. Driving through the city of Gatlin, which at first glance seems deserted, the heroes encounter strange things and come across armed children on their way.

It is still difficult to imagine how the remake will turn out, especially since the last time Kurt Wimmer directed the shooting was in 2006. It was a pretty passable fantasy action movie "Ultraviolet" with Milla Jovovich in the title role. Later, Wimmer limited himself to screenwriting: he wrote lyrics for remakes of "On the Crest of a Wave" and "Total Recall", as well as for the action "Salt".
