Europeans are preparing a movie about the death of the Kursk
The French company EuropaCorp has started producing a feature film about the tragic death of the USA nuclear submarine " Kursk ". According to Deadline , Thomas Winterberg took the helm at the helm of the production of the same name, replacing Martin Zandvliet in this post. The producer is Luc Besson.The tragedy that claimed the lives of all 118 sailors on board occurred on August 12, 2000, during an exercise in the Barents Sea. The investigation concluded that the explosion of one of the 24 torpedoes on board the submarine was the cause of the disaster - the resulting fire detonated the rest, and the second explosion caused serious damage to the ship's structure. The filmmakers took as a basis for the future film the novel by Robert Moore entitled " Time to Die: The Untold Story of the Kursk Tragedy ", in which the author disagrees with the official investigation, which stated the death of the entire crew within 18-24 hours from moment of the second explosion, and considers the version of events according to which several sailors were alive for three days. The British journalist raises the issue of unsuccessful rescue operations, in which other states offered assistance to our country. The print source also touches upon the purely internal reaction to what happened on the part of the country's navy, its leadership, as well as media coverage of the tragedy.  The Dane Winterberg shot the tapes “Celebration. Dogma №1 "," Away from the maddened crowd "and" Hunt ". The script for the upcoming film was written by Robert Rodat, who worked on The Patriot, the second film about Thor and Steven Spielberg's film Saving Private Ryan.
