Colin Firth will play in the drama dedicated to the sinking of the USA submarine Kursk, which is going to be movieed by Luc Besson's studio EuropaCorp. This is reported by the publication Deadline. What role was offered to the popular British actor is not specified yet. Earlier it became known that the picture will be based on the work of the writer Robert Moore "Time to Die", and the screenwriter Robert Rodat will be engaged in its adaptation for the screen, who has such well-known movie projects as "Saving Private Ryan", "Patriot" and others ... Filming under the direction of Danish director Thomas Winterberg is expected to begin in autumn 2016. The K-141 Kursk submarine missile carrier crashed in August 2000 in the Barents Sea during maneuvers. According to the official version, as a result of a torpedo explosion in the bow compartment, part of the boat's ammunition detonated, which led to its depressurization.
