To a concentration camp in search of meaning

Image As reported by Deadline , the American television journalist and five-time Emmy winner Giselle Fernandez through her production company F Squared acquired the rights to film adaptation of the book by the famous Austrian psychiatrist Viktor Frankl " Man in Search of Meaning ".

On September 25, 1942, the scientist and his family members were deported to the concentration camp Theresienstadt . Soon, Victor began to use his skills and abilities to organize psychological assistance for new prisoners who were struggling to cope with the shock they had experienced. Over the years of wandering around concentration camps, Frankl developed the theory of logotherapy, according to which the driving force of human behavior is not the desire for power or pleasure, but the desire to find the meaning of life. Viktor was released from the Turkheim camp on April 27, 1945. Of all the family members of Frankl , only his sister Stella managed to survive.

At the time of Frankl's death in 1997, Man Seeking Meaning had been translated into twenty-four languages and sold over ten million copies worldwide.

The adaptation of the book for the big screen will be handled by Adam Gibgot, who compared the upcoming film adaptation with Roberto Benigni's film Life is Beautiful. “ Victor was a beacon of humanism, - said the scriptwriter. -He met people who did not see any sense in their existence and were ready to commit suicide. Frankl saved many concentration camp prisoners without letting them succumb to despair. Our film will be about how a person can show their best qualities even in the worst conditions”.
