The Men in Black director faces 33 misfortunes
In November last year it became known that the online service Netflix began work on a television adaptation of the book series 33 Misfortunes , authored by Daniel Handler, writing under the pseudonym Lemony Snicket .Now the journalists of the edition Variety managed to find out that the project has acquired a showrunner and a director: they will be Mark Hadis and Barry Sonnenfeld , respectively. Both Hadith and Sonnenfeld will also act as executive producers of the project. However, the management of Netflix has not yet announced when the filming of the series will begin. Speech in the works of Handler , we recall, is about three orphans who are forced to live with their evil distant relative Count Olaf . Children are trying with all their might to find out the truth about the death of their parents who died in the fire, but various difficulties constantly arise on their way.  In 2004, the movie "Lemony Snicket: 33 Misfortunes" was released with Jim Carrey as the same insidious uncle Olaf , which was warmly received by both critics and viewers. The books of Handler themselves have sold over 65 million copies to date.  Mark Hadis is one of the screenwriters of the new Amazon drama Hand of God , and his past projects include series "Nurse Jackie" ( Nurse Jackie ) and "The 70s Show" ( That '70s Show ). Barry Sonnenfeld directed the comedy show Pushing Daisies in 2008, won an Emmy . Also, the director's track record includes all three films of the Men in Black franchise.
