The 14th Visual Effects Society Awards ceremony took place today at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles. The event was hosted by actor and screenwriter Patton Oswalt. The organization includes more than three thousand masters of special effects and computer graphics from 30 countries. Over the previous thirteen years, the winners of the VES Awards for Best Visual Effects in Photorealistic Film and the winners of the Oscars for Best Special Effects have coincided nine times.
