Paramount will kill Liberty Valley again
The Tracking Board shares exclusive information that John Ford's Western " The Man Who Killed Liberty Valley " will be the next movie classic to receive a remake. Paramount Pictures has officially begun work on a new version of the 1962 film.The original, starring James Stewart and John Wayne, toldabout an influential American senator traveling with his wife to a small town on the border. Here, the couple attends a funeral, and when asked what such a respected person has in common with a dead beggar, the senator told a whole story. Once in his youth, a local cowboy helped him escape from a gang of criminals ...The painting is considered the last of the classic Hollywood Westerns and one of the best works of John Ford . According to the source, the remake will move away from the western genre, and its action will unfold in modern Pennsylvania, while a flashback about the events of past years will take viewers into the 80s. The creators of the picture intend to shoot a modern crime thriller in the spirit of The Departed, The City of Thieves and The Mysterious River.  At the moment, the studio is busy looking for a screenwriter, and Matt Jackson will be producing the remake. Gabrielle Canton and Elizabeth Raposo will oversee the project for Paramount .
