Ghostbusters will last for centuries

Image The Library of Congress has published a list of twenty-five films that have been listed on the National Film Register . Films filmed at least ten years ago are added to the list of cinematic masterpieces every year. To date, the American government protects 675 films and digital copies of special cultural and historical significance from the destructive influence of time.

The oldest tape on the list in 2015 turned out to be the documentary short "A sneeze recorded with Edison's kinetoscope", which was filmed back in 1894. The most famous films included in the Registry this year are Ghostbusters, Top Gun, Los Angeles Secrets and The Shawshank Redemption.

Shooting“ Hunters ”was one of the most enjoyable stages of my career, - said Ivan Reitman. “I'm happy that the film, which began with the appearance of a ghost in the library, has found its place on the shelf of the Library of Congress .”
