John Wick author adapts Just Cause
John Wick scriptwriter Derek Kolstad will be adapting Just Cause. The film is curated by Constantine Film. Filming is slated to begin in 2020. It is not yet known who will take the director's chair.The video game Just Cause is based on the real-life US invasion of Panama in 1989, codenamed Operation Just Cause. In the story, Rico Rodriguez, also known as Scorpio, arrives on the tropical island of San Esperito to suppress the dictatorship, which is in the hands of weapons of mass destruction. Rodriguez is forced to enter a race against time and face the Black Hand mercenary faction. The film adaptation of the game had been planned for a long time, with Jason Momoa aspiring for the main role, and Brad Peyton (Rampage) was supposed to get the director's chair.  The first part of the video game was released by Avalanche Studios in 2006, followed by three more sequels. In total, 15 million copies of Just Cause have been sold worldwide, and a properly developed franchise can be a good help for authors of film adaptation. Moreover, Derek Kolstad took over it. One of the producers of the Just Cause film will be Martin Moszkovich, who previously worked on the Resident Evil franchise, which has grossed more than $ 1.3 billion worldwide.
