We recently reported that Dwayne Johnson was starring in the film adaptation of Rampage , the popular 80s video game. Now, Deadline is sharing information that director Brad Peyton is in talks with New Line to lead the filming of the project. While the plot details of the full-length fiction film, the script for which was written by Ryan Engle ("Air Marshal"), are kept secret. But insiders say that the adaptation will be as close as possible to the video game itself. In it, we recall, a giant gorilla, a lizard and a werewolf destroy the largest cities in North America. Apparently, Dwayne Johnson will be engaged in saving humanity from these dangerous monsters. The project will be produced by Beau Flynn and John Ricard, and will be joined by Brad Peyton . The Rock and Peyton already have successful collaborations on Journey 2: The Mysterious Island and San Andreas Rift. The last of these films managed to gross over $ 460 million worldwide, which obviously prompted New Line to assemble the same team to work on Rampage .
