Old stories in a new way

Image The Ink Factory, which successfully transferred the spy novels of John le Carre "The Night Administrator" and "The Little Drummer" to the TV screens, became interested in the work of the famous English writer Roald Dahl. "Non-Invented Stories" is a collection of 16 short stories. It has already been filmed: from 1979 to 1988, nine seasons of the British television series of the same name were released. According to Deadline, The Ink Factory has begun work on a reboot of the show, each episode of which featured a comedic and sinister mood and unexpected ending.

The series was set exclusively within the real world, without any fantastic or supernatural elements. Despite his low budget, Dahl has managed to attract top-tier stars, including John Mills, Joan Collins and Janet Lee. The writer also took part in the filming. At the beginning of each episode for the first two seasons, he gave a short introductory monologue, from which you could find out what inspired him to write a particular story.

It is reported that the new version will not be linked to the original, but will be a separate adaptation of the original material. The Ink Factory has already recruited several writers to work on the reboot, including Claire Wilson (The Little Drummer) and Tom Basden (The Plebeians).
