Oliver Twist's Hunger Games
Poor orphan Oliver Twist, created by Charles Dickens, has hosted both the big and the small screens and the stage. The success of the predecessors haunts Hollywood producers who dream of turning Oliver into a woman for a television series. In the fall of 2016, Disney also announced its desire to make a feature film based on the classic story, but in the absence of a screenwriter, work on the project stalled.According to the portal Deadline, now this problem has been solved: the House of Mouse invited Danny Strong to write the text of the future musical adaptation. The film is directed by Tony Theater Award winner Thomas Kail, and produced by Mark E. Platt (La La Land) and Ice Cube. At the same time, the latter also plans to play Feigin - the leader of a gang of criminals. Danny Strong began his career as an actor. He has appeared in popular TV series such as Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Gilmore Girls. Subsequently, Strong retrained himself as a screenwriter, and very successfully, becoming the owner of two Emmy awards. In his filmography you can find two parts of The Hunger Games, as well as the dramas The Butler and The Catcher in the Rye.  The addition of a talented screenwriter will only benefit the new "Oliver Twist", especially since the project team knows firsthand about working on musicals.
