Return of the cat in the hat
In 2003, Universal released the obscure film Cat, based on the book by popular writer Theodor Zois Geisel, better known as Dr. Seuss. The film with Mike Myers was negatively received by critics, and since then the children's fairy tale has remained untouchable for Hollywood producers.Warner Animation Group decided to change the situation. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the animation arm of Warner Bros. intends to shoot a cycle of cartoons based on the works of Dr. Seuss, and the first in line is just the film adaptation of "Cat in the Hat". At the moment, a screenwriter is being sought for the project. What works of the writer will be adapted in the future is not yet reported, but this year viewers will see a new version of the Grinch story from Illumination Entertainment. "The Cat in the Hat" tells the story of how one day the title character falls into the company of two bored children and creates real chaos in their house. In 1971, a cartoon for TV was filmed based on the fairy tale, and in 2003 the image of the Cat in the feature film was embodied by Mike Myers. Studio Universal spent $ 100 million on the production of the tape, but at the box office it grossed only $ 133 million. Then critics and viewers considered the film adaptation too repulsive, and black humor could only amuse adults.  There is no shortage of characters in the Dr. Seuss gallery, and the writer's stories have always served as an excellent basis for cartoons.
