Syfy will open up new worlds

Image For the fourth year in a row, Syfy has hosted the Wizards of the Magic University of Breakbills, but apparently the universe of Lev Grossman's books has become too small for the network. Syfy's management has decided to open other fantastic worlds to viewers, and will help the channel in this new project - the adaptation of the Wayward Children series of books written by Shannon McGwire.

The series currently includes four works and will be adapted by Joe Trach (Lemony Snicket: 33 Misfortunes). McGwire herself is not involved in the work on the project either as a scriptwriter or as a producer, so if the show team makes changes to the television version, they will do it at their own discretion.

The action of the original books takes place in a closed school for difficult teenagers, but their problems are not at all childish. They have visited other magical worlds, and upon their return they want to go back and cannot get used to the idea that now they have to live an ordinary life. True, for some time now the routine includes the presence of a serial killer. School students become victims, and now the survivors need to work together to find the culprit.

Syfy has recently been actively recruiting new projects, as part of the usual lineup of the television network has remained in the past: Flying Through the Night, Nation Z and Expansion, which moved to Amazon, were closed, and Killjoys will return in the summer with the last season.
