Syfy has renewed the zombie drama Nation Z for a third season. The Hollywood Reporter reports this with reference to the cable channel.

Syfy has ordered fifteen new episodes, which will debut in 2016. At the time of this writing, the show's second season is streaming, with an average of 1.5 million views over seven days of views.

The series, which takes place three years after the zombie virus hit the country, is curated by the executive producer Karl Schaefer (Eureka). The show is produced by The Asylum.

Nation Z has joined other original Syfy series, including 12 Monkeys, Bitten, Olympus, Dark Matter, Killjoys, " including Challenge and Dominion, making way for the upcoming series Childhood's End and Expansion. Among other promising TV projects – The Wizards, based on the Lev Grossman and Hunters book series, directed by The Walking Dead executive producer Gail Ann Heard.
